Hello!

My name is Julia Finke

I started singing before I even knew how to talk. Anytime my parents drove past a McDonald's, I'd start humming "ba da ba ba baaaa" from my car seat. They took this as a sign to enroll me in community theatre classes, and I've been singing, dancing, and acting since I was 5 years old. My childhood love turned into my life's passion when I started studying Theatre at The Governor's for the Arts in Norfolk, VA. In my three years I acted in 10 plays, directed 2 pieces, and studied everything from Suzuki to Shakespeare.

I continued my training at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, the oldest theatre program in the country. I graduated with highest honors in May 2024 with a double major in Dramatic Art and Film Studies and a minor in Musical Theatre Performance. I spent my time at Carolina deepening my understanding for the theatre while expanding my theatrical abilities into

  • Physical Comedy

    • Studying Clown and Commedia dell'Arte at The Accademia dell'Arte in Italy

  • Standup, Sketch, Improv

    • As a member of  False Profits Comedy Troupe and co-producer and host of I Just Said That, a stand up show for female and non-binary performers

  • Directing

    • Assistant Directing Murder on the Orient Express at Playmakers Rep

  • Teaching

    • Serving as Teaching Assistant to Tracy Bersley for DRAM 156 - Physical Comedy, Farce Techniques and Clown

Currently, I am based in Norfolk, VA. Let's work together!

(I promise I am funny and a joy to be around. At least that's what my mom tells me.)
